Prayer Connection

And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
-Philippians 1:6 (ESV)

Sunday, July 16
There are times when we may feel "successful" in our Christian walk. And there are times when we feel like every turn is a constant failure. But we have this reassurance: the one who began a good work in us will continue that work. This work is ongoing and never stops, whether or not we feel successful. We are given the Holy Spirit and sealed with that Spirit until the day of Jesus Christ. Praise God that his redeeming work in us never ends.

Monday, July 17
Pray for a (non-MAF) pilot from New Zealand who is being held captive in Papua. Pray for reduced tensions and restitution in Papua.

Tuesday, July 18
Pray for Karlene Stehling, who is retiring this year after 50 years with MAF. In her latest prayer letter, she writes, “These next couple of months are busy with training/working with other individuals as they take over the areas of work I have been responsible for these past 3 years. I feel so privileged to have been involved with candidates and short-term associates in the early stages of being missionaries with MAF …I would appreciate your prayers that I will be able to remember all the details to make these work transitions happen in an orderly and helpful manner.”

Wednesday, July 19
Several MAF field staff are stateside while they work through significant or perplexing health issues that cannot be diagnosed or treated in their fields of service. Pray for answers and healing as they are anxious to return to the field.

Thursday, July 20
Pray for Lary and Sheryl Strietzel, who have served with MAF since 1990 in Mali, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), and Uganda. Currently, they are in the eastern part of the DRC. Pray for them as they serve Bible translators and other partners and provide mentorship and hospitality.

Friday, July 21
Pray for the staff serving in eastern DRC right now. They currently have low staffing levels, so few people are sharing the flight loads.

Saturday, July 22
Pray for staff in Southeast Asia, where staff will be teaching an ATP theory course for former students. This is the second time teaching this course, but this time there are new instructors who will be helping. Pray for good coordination and a successful course.
