African Children's Choir Old & Abbey Church Arbroath
Date and Time :

7:30pm
A choir which brings together children from across Africa is appearing at several Scottish churches over the next two months.
The African Children’s Choir was originally founded over 30 years ago by Canadian Ray Barnett, to raise funds and awareness of the situation facing many children in then war-torn Uganda.
Successive choirs have toured all over the world, including events such as Live8 and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebration. Children selected for the choir are aged 7-10, and many have lost one or both parents.
The tours raise funds for children’s homes, community schools and educational sponsorship in Uganda, Rwanda, Nigeria, South Africa, South Sudan, Kenya and Ghana.
To date over a thousand vulnerable children have been through the Choir programme and the funds they have generated have provided the opportunity of education and hope for many thousands like them in some of the most desperate and needy areas of Africa.
