Knitting For Others

This time last year we announced that our partnership with the Raven Trust had come to an end. Due to advancing years, the founders of the Dundee-based charity were having to retire and had been unable to find any willing volunteers to take over the planning and organising of container shipments to Malawi. In the ensuing months group members and supporters kept their needles clicking and we were able to make donations of knitted goods to projects in Kenya, Rwanda and Haiti. However, we are now delighted to report that a connection with Malawi has been re-established. This has been possible through the formation of the Banana Box Trust, who are also based in Dundee and have taken over the Raven Trust's former depot in Peddie Street. At the time of writing, we are busy preparing our first consignment of blankets, jumpers, hats and vests to be dispatched to the East African country courtesy of our new friends at the Banana Box Trust. So keep those needles clicking, ladies. We look forward to receiving your contributions.
Again I wish to thank everyone involved with this project and hope to see you all on Monday, April 2, between 1.45 and 3.30 pm when our meetings return to Barry Church Hall for the summer months.
