After a break for a hectic last week of school term, the blog is back! Rhona, my wife, is in Uganda for three weeks with 14 pupils from Monifieth High School, and last week my Mum was staying to help with the babysitting etc - she was a star!
The end of term services are now over, and this morning was the first of our joint summer services in Barry. Despite the advertising and notices, we did have one family turn up at 10.45 am - they said it was because they forgot about the earlier start... but I promised Ben I wouldn't name names.
After a glorious sunny day yesterday - just right for the Renewal of Vows and the later Wedding Service I was conducting - today started with thunderstorms and has continued in the same vein. Thankfully the Barry Church Family Barbeque is hosted on a farm with a very large and empty barn. Probably the only dry BBQ in the East of Scotland - well done Trish and David.
Mum has gone home, Andrew is away at Teen Ranch for the week, and Aileen goes to Rhona's parents tomorrow - it's going to be awfully quiet around here. Still, I've a lot of catching up to do.
Hope to update the entries a little more frequently now.
Mike
